I wish there were some way I could make it happen for you like yesterday!  But....like everyone else here, I am only human and it's beyond me except for the prayers I offer to expedite this for you.

Hang in there!  People do care about your situation.

It's a shame that you feel that way.  I think everyone is trying to help in whatever way they can.  Sometimes all people can afford to give is advice.

As for me - I don't have any advice.  I can only keep you in my prayers.

Good luck.

Aidpage group discussing "Emergency Shelter"...

 in response to cwest...

Hi,

Have you contacted MUST Ministries?

http://www.mustministries.org/housing/programs.aspx

They have programs that offer emergency shelter, meals, medical etc.   ...  and yes, your boyfriend can stay also.  There are longer programs that provide shelter for up to 6 months and housing placement programs as well (part of Pathway network).

However, they do require that you be alcohol/drug free.

I hope this helps.  Good luck.

Hi Brian,

Am I missing something?  You said you had to 'come back here' - where is 'here'?   If you give me your location (or general area) I will try to steer you towards some resources for your area.

I know the phone # is an Ohio exchange, but I don't want to assume that's where you are currently.  You could be using call forwarding and nowhere near Ohio.

Thanks Brian & hang in there!

Here is a link to a list of homeless shelters in Las Vegas my friend.

http://www.homelessshelterdirectory.org/cgi-bin/id/city.cgi?city=Las%20Vegas&state=NV

Check craigslist.org  for 'free stuff' for some clothes, etc.

Here is a link for recent job postings for 'janitorial': (you mentioned doing housecleaning; yard work)

http://www.indeed.com/jobs?q=janitor&l=las+vegas

Let us know how it works out for you. I will keep you in my prayers.

Hi Whitney,

Here is a link to a list of all of the homeless shelters in Dallas.

Hopefully, he is in a shelter, safe and well.  Notice there are no email addresses for the shelters; he might not have any computer access.

Stay strong, think positive and I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers -

free money to help pay bills

 in response to kripy...

Hi,

The funeral Director can guide you re:any available funds to assist you in paying the costs.  There are so many variables to consider:

  • Did she have a life insurance policy(ies)?  Supplemental life insurance?
  • Is she survived by a husband (or ex)?  A spouse (and yes - sometimes an 'ex') can be entitled to collect Social Security survivor's benefits.
  • Any children still in elementary/high school?  They might be entitled to benefits.
  • Did she work in her lifetime?  Nobody needs to work longer than 10 years to be able to provide survivor's benefits to eligible family members.
  • Besides possible monthly survivor benefits, there is a one-time payout of $255 to the eligible survivor by Social Security.
  • Was she married to a veteran?  If so, she is entitled to be buried in a National cemetery and to receive a free headstone.

The Funeral Director will work with the survivors to provide 'affordable' and 'dignified' services.

Keeping you and your fiance in my prayers -

free money to help pay bills

 in response to Angelbabe76...

Hi,

I'm not quite sure what sort of help you are searching for.  In checking for employment in your area, I find 715 nursing jobs posted within the past 7 days and within 25 miles of Apex.

http://www.indeed.com/q-Nurse-Medical-l-Apex,-NC-27502-jobs.html

In addition, there are 304 teaching positions available.

http://www.indeed.com/jobs?q=teacher&l=Apex%2C+NC+27502

You mentioned training for a new career; there are 80 trainee positions posted as well.

http://www.indeed.com/jobs?q=trainee&l=Apex%2C+NC+27502

It seems like the job sector is alive and well in your part of the country.  How can we help you to get one?

The real estate rental market seems healthy as well.  I see listings that are extremely cheap (compared to many other parts of the country) and many are built to accomodate disabled; some even include a washer/dryer!  (And flexible terms/deposit)

http://www.theapexherald.com/pages/results?kind=any&klass=item%20service%20rental%20housing%20rental&widget=search_bar&source=site&string=ApartmentsTownhousesad&pagenum=2

I hope these links help you, somehow....I'll follow your posts to see if there is some specific way to help beyond steering you toward jobs/decent & affordable housing.  And, of course, I will keep you in my prayers -

HELP FOR CHRISTMAS!!!!!!

Somehow I don't think 'Hello Rose' is necessary; she probably ran for the hills to lick her wounds in private.  She said she won't be back - I believe her.

This is the very first post that I'm reading as a new member of this site.  I'm shaking my head and wondering what it's really all about.  It's not difficult to understand why Rose felt insulted and judged.  This is a scary place.  Did I take a wrong turn and end up back in ...uh oh....High School?!!!????

* Crawls into the attic for the 'tough skin' outfit - looks like I'm going to need it.  :P

Hi Everyone,

I don't believe anything happens by chance; I believe in Divine Guidance - 24/7.  Here I am.  I dropped into this site quite unexpectedly.  I'll stay awhile, knowing that there is a purpose.

I hope to help myself by helping others; perhaps we can each grow through caring and sharing while our paths are crossing.
